If you are connecting from another airline:
- With CHECKED BAGS, please allow 2 ½ hours between flights, as you will need to exit the secure area, claim your bag(s) and check in again at our Check-In Counter
- With CARRY ON BAGS ONLY, please allow 1 ½ hours between flights.
There are several parking options at Midway International Airport ranging from hourly and daily parking to long-term/economy parking. This page is designed to provide information so you can determine which lot best suits your travel needs. Rate information for each lot and lot descriptions are available below. Rental Cars & Shuttle Services
Taxi Services: Taxis are available and can be found outside the main terminal and can be hailed outside. Shared-ride vehicles are also available. All taxi rides are metered, except for rides to downtown Chicago, which can have a flat rate. The flat rate is $24.00. For those of you who are not familiar with Chicago, the Downtown area is considered anywhere in “The Loop” of downtown Chicago.
Train Services: The Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) Orange Line train services links Chicago Midway Airport with downtown Chicago via Harold Washington Library. The train runs seven days a week from 4am until 1am the next morning. If you are traveling in the early hours (i.e. between 1am and 4am) you can still catch a taxi, or else pre-arrange a shuttle collection.
You can purchase a ticket at the airport station, which is located alongside the airport across Cicero Avenue. Tickets cost from $2.25 for a single ticket, or from $5.75 for a day travel card which allows unlimited travel. Shuttle Services: Several shuttle companies operate from MDW airport, most of which stop outside the Lower Level’s third exit (LL3).
